EMT PIPEBENDING CLASS
This course covers the bending of EMT conduit for 90° bends, kicks, offsets and 3-bend and 4-bend saddles.
The Houston JATC is offering this class in June, July and August 2025. You may only register for ONE of the class dates in order to allow as many people as possible to take this class.
A fee will not be required for this class. To register for this class, you must register in person at our facility at 108 Covern Street, Houston, Texas 77061, or send an email to staff@houstonjatc.com with your name, IBEW Card number and the class date you will attend.
There is a limit of 16 people per class.
Class Dates are as Follows:
June 28, 2025 – You must register on or before June 20, 2025, by 4pm.

You will need to bring a measuring tape and torpedo level to class. Work attire and leather shoes are required to participate.
BASIC PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROL (PLC)
This is a hands-on course integrating Motor Control and Basic PLC. Basic Motor Control Class is required for taking this class.
Classes will be held on 4 Saturdays.

You must pre-register in person at the Electrical Training Center.
There is a $100 deposit (Check or Money Order only, NO CASH) for this class. Students with perfect attendance (No Absences, No Tardies) will receive a refund of the deposit.

OSHA 10 Certification Class
This class is designed to help the student obtain their OSHA 10 Certification. This class will meet on one weeknight and one Saturday. Both parts must be completed in order to receive the Certification.
OSHA 10 - Part I Date: Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 8am to 5pm
Part II Date: Monday, June 16, 2025 from 6pm to 10pm
OSHA 10 - Part I Date: Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 8am to 5pm

This class is designed to help the student obtain their First aid / CPR certification. This class will be an eight-hour class on a Saturday.

NEC Testing Preparation Class
This course covers practice tests for the State of Texas Journeyman Wireman’s exam which helps the student in gaining knowledge of how the NEC is arranged and to decrease their time in looking up test questions. Prior knowledge of the NEC is recommended but not required to take this class. The focus of this class is on the look-up of basic NEC questions, NEC code calculations, and basic electrical theory. Included in the class are tips to use for successful test taking.

There is No Pre-Registration or Fee required for this class. Anyone interested in taking this class must show up before 6:00pm on any Tuesday Night during the period listed above (excluding Holidays) with a current dues receipt from an IBEW Local Union. You may attend as many or as few classes as you desire.

BICSI CERTIFICATION CLASSES
The Houston JATC is offering BICSI Certification Classes. IBEW Members will be able to register at the Houston JATC Office.
Registration procedures per the JATC Committee will be:
IBEW 716 Teledata Unit Members will have first priority.
IBEW Journeymen Wireman will have next priority if space is available as registration deadline for class draws near.
IBEW CW / CE’s will have priority after IBEW Journeyman Wireman if space is available as registration deadline for class draws.
Some Certification tests require documentable experience in Tele Communications Installations in order to take the exam.
All members wishing to take bicsi certification classes must register with bicsi and obtain a bicsi id#.
